The role Design plays in today’s world is never isolated- products are constantly interfacing with other parts of a larger system which demands communication and functionality on multiple levels. Solving for the primary use cases are the main objective, however we must accommodate for the experience entering into and upon exit of prolonged uses just as we do for the immediate operation of machines.

Design thinking brings immense value to both startups and larger companies which need flexibility and efficiency to meet the wide scope of deliverables. In order to clearly illustrate the total vision, the complex demands of business, marketing, and production should all be taken into the design equation.

Taking a systematic approach has helped in rethinking how a product will relate to its counterparts in a grander sense, and more impact can be made across all levels. Regardless of whether a project is well funded or limited by budget, the quality of content lies in how well the resources available are applied.

For more than a decade Delise Design has developed a methodology of Design Thinking which can be applied as a template to a variety of companies and products. Adaptability is an increasingly valuable trait in today’s world. We are constantly posing the questions: How can we create a product vision which allows for agility in the constantly changing landscape?

There is great opportunity for organizations which are looking for a fresh perspective by creating regenerative products and business models. This system, coined as Regenerative Product Modality, is a cohesive approach to research and development. RPM makes machines more compelling by enabling users to be active participants in sustainability in a greater sense. For more specific information on RPM - please visit REGEN page.

Marking priorities and segmenting tasks into modules and checkpoints helps allow each phase to take a life of its own which bleeds into other areas of the process. Time proportioning throughout each segment is key to reaching milestones while the encouragement to circle back to former states of mind helps keep the value of gathered insights omnipresent.

The absorption phase is essential research where designers must immersive themselves in order to fully embody the needs and perspective of the end user so that the design may serve them best. I believe in extensive interactivity within the subject’s world to feel the full effects, both during and after use. This will produce clear definitions which specifically outline the needs of who we are designing for.

As natural idea generators, creative analysis is where design thrives- inspiring team members to think beyond the obvious solution and solve problems in elegant new ways is the most rewarding element of our work. Applying what has been learned through the lens of the user yields iterations of varying fidelity which are functionally sound and help propose the most ideal end product.

Implementing the efforts of the first two phases is where our work is tried and tested. Execution is a process of re-generation which we use to tie the inputs together cohesively. Revisions and refinements are not final touches, but rather a constant force living within a product which help it improve throughout its existence.

Applying the rules of nature is a universal but often overlooked solution to many modern industrial challenges. It takes an adaptable perspective to deliver cohesive plans which respect the full spectrum of disciplines involved in manufacturing a product.

Business Development is always in mind when researching and pitching new product strategies. Analyzing methods for streamlining of materials and production processes always offer new opportunities for monetization. Pose the question: How to improve customer brand loyalty through products which enable them to participate in long term sustainability.
